BLOOMINGTON – Bloomington mayor Tari Renner has scheduled three town hall meetings next month to seek feedback on a wide range of city issues.
Renner told WJBC’s Scott Laughlin foremost on his mind is how the city can plug a projected $3 million shortfall.
“(It is) not a crisis, it is a challenge,” Renner declared. “We want to hear about what people want to cut or what they would be willing to pay a little bit more for, that’s what we want to hear – or if there are things that are on their radar screen that are not on our radar screen.
The meetings will be on Dec. 5 at the YWCA, on Dec. 12 at the Bloomington Center for the Performing Arts and Dec. 20 at Miller Park Pavilion. All three meetings are from 5:30-7 p.m.
Renner added constituents can still meet with him one-on-one during his twice-monthly open house sessions on Fridays before city council meetings.
“We can always do even more to reach out to our residents and get them engaged,” Renner said.
