Gregory Brakeville
Gregory K. Brakeville, 62 of Chenoa, passed away at 1:26 a.m., Thursday, Dec. 14, 2017 at University of Kentucky Hospital, Lexington, Ky.
Graveside services will be 1 pm, Wednesday, Dec. 20, 2017 at Oak Grove Cemetery, Jerseyville. A celebration of his life will be at 2 p.m., after the interment on Wednesday at Chopped Steaks & Seafood, Jerseyville.
Visitation will be 4-7 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 19, 2017 at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Chenoa. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the family of Gregory K. Brakeville or Hope Pregnancy Center, Pontiac.
Greg was born Dec. 1, 1955 in Jerseyville the son of Merwin and Helen (Isringhausen) Brakeville. He married Sue Lockhart on May 28, 1994 in Bloomington. His wife Sue, of Chenoa, survives in Lexington.
Other survivors include one daughter, Rachel Brakeville of Lexington; one step-son, Douglas Stein of Lexington, Ill.; three siblings, Dallas (Kathy) Brakeville of Lane, KS; Sandra (Bill) Hennenberg of Atlanta, GA; Ronnie (Kathy) Brakeville of Florida; his three spoiled dogs, Mike, Lily and Abby.
His parents and one brother, William Brakeville preceded him in death.
Greg was raised in Jerseyville and later attended and played baseball at University of South Alabama. He was an active board member on Caring Pregnancy Center in Pontiac.
His love of baseball lead him to coach little league and he never missed a St. Louis Cardinal game. Greg had a passion for music and always loved playing music with “The Guys.” His family and friends described him as a great man and a better friend. Greg truly had no enemies. As a career salesman, he never knew a stranger.
