ATLANTA, GA. – Amid sickness within the Illinois Wesleyan Titans (9-3) squad, a late second half push helped the Titans secure the win over Birmingham-Southern (3-8) 81-74.
Last minute scratches to the Titans lineup forced main scores to the bench, but the Titans bounced back outscoring BSC 43-36 at half.
Backed behind five of the 10 IWU three pointers, IWU senior guard Brady Rose helped the Titans down the stretch as BSC clawed their way back in the second half.
IWU lead BSC by nine with 9:48 left in the second half, then the Titans defense forced turnovers to secure their first win the Emory Classic Tournament.
IWU senior guard Brady Rose led the Titans with 26 points and four assists in the win over BSC.
The Titans finished the Emory Classic (1-1).
IWU will take on Augustana College at the Shirks Center on the campus of IWU on Jan. 3 at 7 p.m. WJBC.com will have the call with pregame beginning at 6:50 p.m.
