New beer and bacon festival coming to Bloomington

BLOOMINGTON – A first-time event at Grossinger Motors Arena will feature two favorite indulgences.

Bloomington’s first Bacon and Beer Festival on Friday, Feb. 16 will include games, live music and a bacon-eating contest

“We are working with local restaurants to be able to provide samples of their best bacon specialty bite that they want to provide and we are going to have have tons of little microbrews and craft brews for people to sample,” arena general manager Lynn Cannon explained.

Cannon said the festival will feature up to 100 beer samples and 10 to 15 restaurants.

Awards will be presented for best bacon dish and best brewery. Advance tickets cost $30 and the VIP experience which includes early entry and a BLT bar cost $65 in advance. Tickets are available starting Friday at the arena box office or through Ticketmaster.
