NORMAL – The Normal Town Council’s Monday agenda includes the abatement of about $107,000 in property taxes for Rivian Automotive.

The abatement is part of an economic incentive agreement with the electric vehicle manufacturer. In order to qualify for the abatement, Rivian was required to complete the purchase of the former Mitsubishi property and invest at least 500 thousand dollars in project expenses, all by the end of 2017.

Rivian Automotive has taken the next step toward production by announcing five members of its executive team.

Rivian plans to begin production in 2020.

Illinois poet Vachel Lindsay…

I was a grade-schooler during the Civil Rights 1960s. I watched Birmingham demonstrators hosed and the Selma – Montgomery…

Workers’ Memorial Day – Remember those whose job took their life

Looking around our community, when we say employer, most will respond to State Farm, Country, or Illinois State University.   We too often forget those who are building our roads, serving our food, or our public employees. COVID-19 has made us more aware of the risk.  Going to work every day for some people means…
