NORMAL – Heartland Community College has named a man with more than three decades of experience in higher education as its new president.
Keith Cornille is the executive vice president and chief student services officer at Madison Area Technical College in the Wisconsin capital. He has served in senior leadership at the Madison school since 2006, overseeing direction and student services for its four regional campuses and two metro campus locations.
PODCAST: Listen to Scott Laughlin’s interview with Cornille at WJBC.
Cornille has ties to Central Illinois, as his brother attended and his sister worked at Illinois Wesleyan University, and his parents moved to Mount Zion about 20 years ago.
Cornille will succeed Rob Widmer, who retires on June 30. The Heartland board is scheduled to vote on a contract for Cornille next week.
