Henrietta C. Henson, 99, formerly of Bloomington, passed away at 6:55 a.m., Tuesday, May 29, 2018 at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center, Bloomington.

A Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m., Friday, June 1, 2018 at Holy Trinity Church, Bloomington. Burial will be at Holy Cross Cemetery, Normal. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m., Thursday, May 31, 2018 at Carmody-Flynn Funeral Home, Bloomington.

Memorials may be directed to Holy Trinity Church or your local humane society.

Henrietta was born May 10, 1919 in Milan, Mich., the daughter of John O. and Alma Mary Lush Hanson. She married Jack D. Henson on Nov. 14, 1946 in Chillicothe, Ohio and he died on Dec. 22, 1991.

Survivors include two children, John (Cindy) Henson of Bloomington and Gretchen Ryan of St. Petersburg, Fla; four grandchildren, Heather (Billy) Smith, Kristen (Michael) Murn, Patrick Ryan and Erik (Susannah) Henson; 10 great-grandchildren and a sister, Frances Boleyn of Hot Springs, Ark.

She was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Patrick Ryan.

Henrietta graduated from Trinity High School in 1938 and St. Joseph School of Nursing in 1941. From 1942-1946 she was a registered nurse and stewardess on B & O Railroad’s “National Unlimited” which was a passenger train that ran between St. Louis and Washington, D.C. She also worked as a nurse at Chillicothe Hospital, Ross County Medical Center in Chillicothe as well as Suncoast Manor in St. Petersburg.
