NORMAL – Normal Community High School’s boys track and field and basketball teams now have $2,000 thanks to an athletics grant from California Casualty.
The teams were granted $1,000 each because of their tight budgets.
The basketball team will use the money for more basketballs and to allow more players.
The track and field team will buy more sweat suits and uniforms.
NCHS is one of the 32 schools across the county chosen to help sports programs with tight budgets.
Public middle and high schools can apply for the grant with a link found on calcasathleticsgrant.com.
