DANVERS – Leo Dean Miller, 95 of Mesa, Arizona, passed away Saturday, July 7, 2018 in Danvers.
Visitation will be at Calvert & Metzler Memorial Home, Bloomington from 5 p.m. to 7p.m. on Thursday, July 12, 2018 and from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Friday, July 13, 2018 at the North Danvers Mennonite Church followed by his funeral at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at the North Danvers Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorial can be made to the North Danvers Mennonite Church, the Danvers Town Band or the charity of the donor’s choice.
Calvert & Metzler Memorial Home is in charge of arrangements.
Leo was born on March 5, 1923 at the Danvers farm, a son of Harvey and Edith Kinzinger Miller. He married Ailene Thomas on June 30, 1945 who resides in Mesa, Ariz.
Survivors include two daughters Karla S. Miller, Princeton, NJ and Brenda A. Miller, Danvers, Illinois and two sisters, Grace Keigham, Bloomington and Dorothy Haeffele, Normal.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Leo farmed at the sesquicentennial family farm his entire life before retiring to Arizona. He served on the Illinois Soybean Board from 1989-1995. He played in the Danvers Town Band for 75 years. Leo was a member of the National Society of the Sons of the American Revolution and he was a lifelong member of the North Danvers Mennonite Church.
