BLOOMINGTON- McLean County has a new state’s attorney.
This morning at the County Board Meeting – Board Chairman John McIntyre made his choice and the full county board voted naming assistant county administrator Don Knapp as the replacement for Jason Chambers.
Last week the five candidates presented their qualifications and answered questions from the county board’s executive committee.
During that Q&A Knapp, who is also a lawyer and former prosecutor, said great state’s attorneys provide prosecutors with the tools they need to do their jobs, and get out of their way.
Jason Chambers, leaves the state’s attorney position to become a circuit judge.
