Ina Rehtmeyer (Calvert Memorial)
Ina M. Rehtmeyer, 87 of Bloomington, passed away on Tuesday, August 21, 2018 at Advocate BroMenn Medical Center, Normal.
Ina’s memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 25, 2018 at 10:30am at the Funks Grove Church, Rural McLean with Father Dave Halt officiating. Inurnment will be at the Funks Grove Cemetery. Following the graveside the family will be receiving friends at the Outlook.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials to be made to the Sugar Grove Nature Center, 4532 N. 725 East Road, McLean, Illinois 61754.
Calvert & Metzler Memorial Home is in charge of arrangements.
Ina was born on September 18, 1930 in Washington DC. She is the daughter of Edward A. and Jessie Frances (Button) Mueller. She married Calvin A. Rehtmeyer on March 2, 1957 in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He preceded her in death on February 7, 2002.
Ina is survived by her children, Carla H. (Charles Cherry Jr.) Rehtmeyer, Bloomington; Clint A. (Cheri) Rehtmeyer, Kilkenny, Minnesota; and Eric (Kamela) Rehtmeyer, Bloomington. Also surviving are her grandchildren,
Charles A. Rehtmeyer, Clay (Kristian) Rehtmeyer, Jessica (Joel Goodew) Rehtmeyer and Nicole Rehtmeyer and 8 great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents and 1 sister; Janet Gleason.
Ina was a graduate of Stephens College, Columbia, MO and received her B.S. in Nursing from Loretta Heights College, Seton Unit, Denver, CO. Ina formerly worked as a registered nurse for Brokaw Hospital and McLean County Health Department, retiring in 1975.
She is a member of St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church, Bloomington, 50+ year member of DAR and was a life member of BroMenn Service League.
Ina enjoyed playing Bridge for over 50 years with the Monday Bridge Club. She was a former member of the Parkside Junior High School PTA and a former Cub and Brownie Scout Troop Leader.
Ina had an adventurous spirit and was not afraid to try something new, she would say “Life is not about waiting for the storm to pass. It’s about learning to dance in the rain”.
