UPDATED: Coroner ID’s man found dead at Clinton Lake

CLINTON – The DeWitt County coroner has identified the Peoria man, whose body was pulled Thursday from Clinton Lake.

Coroner Randy Rice said preliminary autopsy results indicated drowning was the cause of Michael Dailey’s death. Dailey was 63.

Illinois Conservation Police told news partner WMBD-TV they used sonar equipment to locate Dailey’s body near the Mascoutin boat ramp.

A dive team recovered Dailey’s body, and the coroner pronounced him dead about 1:40 Thursday afternoon.
