McLean County coroner, state police probe I-55 fatality

LEXINGTON – The McLean County coroner’s office has identified the man struck and killed by a vehicle on Interstate 55 Monday night near Lexington as a resident of Hammond, Indiana.

Coroner Kathy Davis says Zachary Doyle, 27, died from multiple injuries after being struck by an automobile late Monday night. Doyle was pronounced dead after 11 p.m. Monday at OSF Saint Joseph Medical Center in Bloomington.

State police say Doyle ran from officers during a traffic stop before he was struck.

Toxicology results are pending. The coroner’s office and state police are investigating.
