BLOOMINGTON – A masked gunman was said to be one of two intruders who committed a home invasion Thursday morning on Bloomington’s southeast side.

The break-in happened about 9:25 a.m. in an apartment at 716 Arcadia Dr.

On their Facebook page, Bloomington Police said the suspects are two masked black men, wearing all black, and both about 18 to 20 years old.

Investigators say they knocked on the door, pushed the resident to the ground, and demanded money. One of the suspects allegedly pointed a gun at the resident before the two ran away.

Police received information that the two might have been walking in the neighborhood the day before.

Authorities are asking tips to help solve the case. They’re asking anyone with information to call Bloomington Police Det. Jared Bierbaum at 309-434-2807 or the department’s main line at 309-820-8888. Tips from people wishing to remain anonymous can be called into McLean County Crime Stoppers at 309-828-1111. The Crime Stoppers organization offers rewards of up to $1,000 for information leading to arrests and indictments.

Pritzker, recall another Illinois Governor who protested the incursion of armed federal personnel into the city.   Those federal troops, rather than calming, escalated the situation, leading to deaths and violence. In these troubled times, to my fellow white Americans

By Mike Matejka Our nation is at a unique watershed in human relations. African-Americans have been killed too many times in the past before George Floyd, but the response to this man’s death is international and all-encompassing. I was a grade-schooler during the Civil Rights 1960s. I watched Birmingham demonstrators hosed and the Selma – Montgomery…

Workers’ Memorial Day – Remember those whose job took their life

Looking around our community, when we say employer, most will respond to State Farm, Country, or Illinois State University.   We too often forget those who are building our roads, serving our food, or our public employees. COVID-19 has made us more aware of the risk.  Going to work every day for some people means…
