Drug bust ends a three month long investigation

BLOOMINGTON– A three month long investigation ended Friday morning as the Bloomington Police Department’s Vice Unit busted up a powder and crack cocaine distribution operation.

Four Bloomington men were arrested as BPD seized approximately 185 grams of powder cocaine, approx. 115 grams of crack cocaine, approx. $6,900 in United States currency, three handguns, one shotgun and one bullet proof vest as they served federal search warrants.

23-year old Khalil Hood, 38-year old Lorenzo Aken, 52-year old Larry Lanier and 30-year old Raymone Stephens were all arrested with police saying there are federal charges pending on several of the defendants. Pictured left to right are Hood, Lanier, Aken then Stephens.

The investigation is ongoing and authorities expect to make further arrests.

Members of the United States Drug Enforcement Administration, United States Marshals Task Force, Illinois State Police Tactical Response Team and Bloomington Police Department’s Special Weapons and Tactics Team all assisted in this morning’s bust.
