BLOOMINGTON– Hospitals in Central Illinois are making the grade.
A new assessment from Leapfrog measures health facilities for the safety of their patients.
27 measures of patient safety are looked at with letter grades A,B,C,D or F being handed down with area hospitals getting varying grades.
Patient care management, medication safety, frequency of healthcare-associated infection, and maternity care are some of the areas examined.
In Bloomington-Normal, OSF Saint Joseph Medical Center received an A, and Advocate BroMenn got a B.
The state’s only F grades. went to two Chicago Area hospitals.
The Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade is the only hospital rating focused exclusively on hospital safety.
