NEWPORT, Ky. – Illinois State women’s basketball evened its record and earned its first road victory with a 58-55 win over Northern Kentucky on Friday evening at BB&T Arena.
Illinois State (4-4) led by 12 points with more than four minutes remaining in the first half but Northern Kentucky (1-5) surged back to within a point late in the contest. NKU scored the first three points of the game but never led again.
Simone Goods led the Redbirds with 19 points despite being limited to 18 minutes due to foul trouble. TeTe Maggett added 15 for the Birds. Kailey Coffey led NKU with 17 points while Molly Glick contributed 11.
Illinois State takes off this week due to finals and is next in action on Sunday, Dec. 16 at 3:30 p.m. against Maryville in the second half of a men’s-women’s doubleheader at Redbird Arena.
