Large Livingston County marijuana-growing operation shut down

PONTIAC – A large-scale marijuana operation has been shut down according to Livingston County Sheriff Tony Childress.

The sheriff reported deputies arrested John Randa, 46, of Roberts on Thursday after an investigation found marijuana-growing operations in two homes in Roberts and Strawn. Childress says about 400 marijuana plants were found in the homes as well as unidentified controlled substances, firearms and more than $10,000 cash. The sheriff estimates the value of the marijuana at $230,000.

Childress says the investigation continues and more seizures are possible.
