BPD probes “shots fired” call on near east side

BLOOMINGTON – Investigators confirmed it was gunfire that rattled a neighborhood Friday afternoon on Bloomington’s near east side.

Bloomington Police responded about 4 p.m. to a “shots fired” call in the 800 block of East Jefferson Street, near Cinton Boulevard, and found evidence at the scene confirming there was a shooting.

No injuries were reported, and police have no one in custody. Anyone with information is asked to call Bloomington Police at 309-820-8888, or McLean County Crime Stoppers at 309-828-1111.
