Normal names new assistant city manager

NORMAL – Town officials in Normal have announced the hiring of a new assistant city manager.

Eric Hanson, who most recently served as city administrator in Ballwin, Mo., will start on Monday according to a statement from city manager Pam Reece.

Hanson began his local government career in Monmouth, Ill. as city administrator. He then moved to Indianola, Iowa and served as city manager.

Hanson takes over for Reece, who was assistant city manager before replacing Mark Peterson in April 2018. Hanson’s salary will be $148,746.

Teri Legner has served as the interim assistant city manager and will return to her position as Director of Information Technology.
