Redbird men lead wire-to-wire over Sycamores

NORMAL – Illinois State men’s basketball never trailed in a 76-62 victory over Indiana State on Sunday on Doug Collins Court at Redbird Arena.

Phil Fayne led Illinois State (12-9, 5-3 Missouri Valley Conference) with 26 points as Keyshawn Evans contributed 17 points. Tyreke Key chipped in 18 for Indiana State (11-9, 3-5) followed by Jordan Barnes with 14 points.

Illinois State returns to action on Wednesday at 7 p.m. at Drake. The broadcast on WJBC-AM 1230, 93.7 Nash Icon and WJBC.com begins at 6 p.m. from Knapp Center.

The Illinois State Basketball Coaches Shows can be heard Monday from Hy-Vee Market Grille with women’s coach Kristen Gillespie at 6 p.m. followed by men’s coach Dan Muller at 7 p.m. on AM 1230 and WJBC.com.
