Bloomington man arrested for drug induced homicide

BLOOMINGTON – A Bloomington man has been arrested for a drug-induced homicide from 2018.

Christopher Barker, 35, was taken into custody Wednesday by Bloomington Police on an outstanding McLean County warrant for drug induced homicide.  Barker’s bond has been set at $1 million.

McLean County coroner Kathy Yoder determined that George Darnell, 44, died as a result of a drug overdose.

The investigation began on Nov. 8, 2018 in the 600 block of South McClun Street.

Barker’s warrant and arrest is a result of a joint effort by the McLean County Coroner’s Office, the McLean County State’s Attorney’s Office and the BPD.
