NORMAL – Moe’s Southwest Grill in north Normal will reopen Friday, just three days after a sports utility vehicle plowed through the dining room.
Owner Ken Solem told WJBC’s Scott Miller the restaurant will reopen at 11 a.m.
The accident happened Tuesday in the 1700 block of Bradford Lane, off Raab road. Solem said the help of local businesses made for a quick turnaround.
“It’s a great community and they have really stepped up and if I was in a big community it wouldn’t have happened this fast,” said Solem.
The police report stated the woman driving the SUV thought she had a foot on the brake, but the car surged forward.
Approximately 14 people were in the dining area when the crash happened. The driver and two customers were transported to Advocate BroMenn Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.
“We are very thankful the situation wasn’t worse,” Solem added.
