Mary Kathleen Lausterer

HEYWORTH – Mary Kathleen Lausterer, 84 of Heyworth, passed away on Sunday, March 3, 2019 at her daughters home in Hudson surrounded by her family.

Kathleen’s memorial service will be held on Thursday, March 7, 2019 at 11 a.m. at the Heyworth Christian Church, Heyworth, with Youth Director Candi Evans officiating. Inurnment will be held at East Lawn Memorial Gardens, Bloomington. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the church on Thursday.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, Heyworth Fire Department or Heyworth Public Library.

Calvert & Metzler Memorial Home is in charge of arrangements.

Kathleen was born on June 18, 1934 in Normal, Illinois to Charles E. and Dorothy (Barnes) Williams. She married Benny Eugene Lausterer on June 22, 1951 in Heyworth. He preceded her in death on January 5, 1993.

Kathleen is survived by her daughters, Sharon (Skip) Southwick, Hudson and Mary Christianer, Bloomington. Also surviving are her grandchildren, Adam (Nicole) Southwick and David (Meghan) Christianer; great grandchildren, Savana, Daniel, Mary and Jeffery; sisters, Martha Brown and Linda Bounds both of Green Valley, Ariz. and a sister-in-law, Barbara Williams of St. Joseph, Ill. Kathleen is preceded in death by her parents; son-in-law, Don Christianer and her brother, James Williams.

Kathleen worked for Eureka Company for 25 years retiring in 1994. She was a member of the Young at Heart at the Heyworth Christian Church. She loved listening to music with her friends, Bluegrass Festivals, going out dancing, antiquing and was an avid reader. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Kathleen wasn’t afraid to live her life to the fullest and the family knows when she arrived in heaven she was greeted with music and dancing.

The family would like to thank BroMenn Hospice for their care, kindness and compassion, and also thank her special friend Rex for his help and companionship over the years and during her last days.
