BLOOMINGTON – Bloomington Police aided Woodford County Sheriff’s deputies in the arrest of a suspect in a Tuesday morning stabbing in Kappa.
Meantime, police are asking for the public’s help to find a man from Normal who’s considered a person of interest and wanted for questioning in the attack.
Authorities received a report about 8:25 a.m Tuesday that two men forced their way into a home on Jones Street in Kappa, and there was a man bleeding inside the house.
Police said they found a male victim suffering from apparent stab wounds to the stomach. He was taken to Advocate BroMenn Medical Center for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
About 40 minutes after the stabbing, police said they found the suspect’s abandoned vehicle in Bloomington. A short-time later, they arrested Scott Duckworth, 43, on an aggravated battery charge.
Police were looking for Jose Lemous, 40, of Normal. Anyone with information about his whereabouts is asked to call the Woodford County Sheriff’s Office or local police.
Police said they questioned a juvenile boy, but released him.
Investigators said they have not determined a motive for the stabbing.
