BLOOMINGTON – Bloomington High School boys basketball coach Micheal Mosley has resigned after eight seasons leading the Raiders, including a third place finish in the Class 3A state tournament only two years ago.
Mosley said it was time to move on.
“Students in the school are changing. The school is changing, and I just decided that it was time for me to just walk away because the way that I try to do things may not be the best way,” Mosley said.
Mosley said still loves the game, but doesn’t know if he’ll coach again. He’ll continue living in Bloomington, where he’s worked 20 years at State Farm in the information security department.
Mosley intends to remain active in kids’ lives.
“I’m going to continue to be available for all the guys that played for me, guys that didn’t play for me, guys from other schools who we competed against because at the end of the day, basketball is a community game,” Mosley also said.
Mosley leaves BHS with a 142-91 record. The Raiders were 18-12 this season.
Athletic Director Tony Bauman said Mosley has done a lot for the program. He hopes to have a new coach in place by the end of the school year.
