BLOOMINGTON – A man died after a van struck a motorcyclist then fled on foot from the scene.
Bloomington Police Officers were called around 3:45 p.m. to the intersection of Main St. and Macarthur Ave. for a motor vehicle accident.
BPD says that upon arrival officers learned that the van hit a motorcyclist. The driver of the van fled the scene on foot.
The van was reportedly driving east on Macarthur Ave. and the motorcycle was driving north on Main St. before the crash.
The motorcyclist was transported from the scene by rescue personnel to Advocate BroMenn Medical Center. The male motorcyclist was later pronounced deceased by the McLean County Coroner’s Office.
An autopsy has been scheduled for Sunday.
There were no other vehicles or persons involved. No suspect information will be released at this time.
