BLOOMINGTON – The Multicultural Leadership Program has named a new executive director.
Julie Emig, a Bloomington City Council member, will take over the role starting July 1st, according to MCLP board chair Barbara Taft.
“We are looking forward to working with Julie, an accomplished educational and community leader, to enhance our program and our presence in McLean County,” said Taft in a release.
The MCLP is a nine month program that prepares individuals for leadership positions in public, private, educational, political and non-profit sectors.
Emig is a recent graduate of the MCLP and she has held a number of leadership educations positions in Illinois, New York and Massachusetts. She most recently was an instructional assistant professor in the college of teaching and learning at Illinois State University.
Emig replaces Linda Bollivar, who was the executive director for the past five years. Bollivar is taking a position at ISU.
