Unit 5 hires new Parkside Junior High principal

NORMAL – A former superintendent of a Vermilion County school system will be principal of Unit 5’s Parkside Junior High for the next school year.

The Unit 5 School Board on Wednesday hired Suzzette Hesser, who becomes Parkside’s principal on July 1.

Hesser replaces Darrin Cooper, who is Unit 5’s new Director of Teaching and Learning.

Hesser will be paid $92,500.

The Eastern Illinois University graduate spent the past two years as superintendent of the Hoopeston Area School District, and before that was an administrator and teacher in Sterling during her 23 year career as an educator.
