NORMAL – An agency in Normal that helps people with disabilities has selected a new CEO.
The Marcfirst Board of Directors Monday named Brian Wipperman, 40, of Bloomington as its next CEO.
Wipperman takes over for Laura Furlong, who retired as CEO on June 28. Chief Operating Officer Gregg Chadwick will continue as acting CEO until Wipperman takes over August 26.
“I am excited to join an organization with such a strong reputation and a long history of service to McLean County,” said Wipperman in a statement. “I’m looking forward to getting to know the Marcfirst staff, the people we serve, and our partners in the community.”
Wipperman joins Marcfirst with 16 years of experience in special education, most recently as the vice president of education for the Children’s Home Association of Illinois in Peoria.
“The Marcfirst board was looking for someone who was not just qualified to do the job but also someone who is a good fit for the incredibly strong executive team at Marcfirst,” said board president Sam Lewis. “We believe we have found the right person in Brian Wipperman and we are very excited to have him join our organization.”
Wipperman holds a bachelor’s degree in history from Molloy College, a master’s degree in education from Queens College, and is a graduate of the Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts Leadership Academy for Administrative Certification.
