Two men arrested on weapon charges after reports of an armed suspect

NORMAL – After reports of an armed subject on Friday, Normal Police Chief Rick Bleichner says two men are being held in the McLean County Jail on weapon charges.

NPD responded to the 1300 block of W. Hovey Ave., where Officers arrested Patrick McLellan, 18, of Normal, and Timothy King, 20, of Champaign. Officers recovered a sawed-off shotgun with a defaced serial number during the arrest.

McLellan is charged with Unlawful Use of Weapon, Possession of a Firearm, No FOID Card and Aggravated Assault with a weapon. McLellan’s bond has been set at $5,035 cash.

King is charged with unlawful use of a weapon and possession of a firearm. No bond information is available for King.
