CHICAGO – Former Central Illinois Congressman Aaron Shock has been cleared of federal criminal charges alleging misuse of campaign funds.
A federal judge said Shock complied with a deal that was struck six months ago. The Peoria Republican was accused of using campaign funds for his own use, such as lavishly decorating his office and charter a plane to a Bears game.
The Chicago Tribune reports that Shock paid back $68,000 in campaign funds.
