BLOOMINGTON – Two Bloomington men are in custody and one man is still on the loose after an early morning hold up on the city’s west side.
Jamar Cain and Kwiezon Bausley, both 19, were arrested for armed robbery and discharge of a firearm.
Police said Cain, Bausley, and another black man robbed a restaurant Friday around 2:20 a.m. in the 1000 block of Wylie Drive.
Authorities said two of the men demanded money from customers and pistol whipped a person. Police said the three men got locked out of the business, and while trying to re-enter the restaurant, Bausley shot himself in the hand. The suspects then took off on foot.
Later, Normal Police attempted to stop a car that was described as the suspects. Officers located the vehicle in a parking lot in the 200 block of Saratoga Road. A police K9 was deployed and Cain was taken into custody.
BPD said it learned that Bausley checked himself into a local hospital due to his gun shot wound. He was treated for non-life threatening injuries and was arrested.
Police said the third suspect is still on the loose. No suspect description was given.
