NORMAL – Bloomington-Normal Economic Development Council Vice President Zach Dietmeier announced Tuesday he has left the organization and is joining Rivian Automotive.
In a news release, Dietmeier said he will be the plant communications manager for Rivian at its manufacturing facility in Normal. Dietmeier will be responsible for plant communications as well as media and community relations for the region.
Dietmeier served as the vice president of the EDC for three years. Before that, he worked at Illinois State University in the marketing and communications office.
“While the EDC will miss Zach, it is great to have someone with his economic development acumen representing Rivian,” said EDC CEO Patrick Hoban.
Hoban said the EDC plans to hire two positions with Dietmeier’s departure. They are looking for a project manager and business retention and expansion specialist. Hoban said the jobs will likely be posted by the end of the month.
