NORMAL – Normal Police are releasing few details as they continue to investigate an Illinois State University student’s claim that an Uber driver tried to rape her early Saturday morning.
The woman reported the driver groped her after picking her up from an off-campus party about 3 a.m. Saturday.
She said the driver pulled over onto an unknown side street and tried to have sex with her.
Normal Police have not made an arrest even though they know the Uber driver’s identity. NPD is said to be actively investigating the case.
ISU Police issued a campus crime advisory just before 6 p.m Saturday.
