LINCOLN – The National Weather Service has reported record snowfalls for this time of year in Peoria and Springfield.
Snowfall totals in Peoria as of 1:30 p.m. Thursday reached 3.9 inches, breaking the October daily record of a trace set in 1918.
The weather service said the October snowfall total in Peoria is now 4.2 inches, that breaks the old monthly record of 3.3 inches that happened in 1929.

In Springfield, snowfall totals Thursday afternoon hit 2.3 inches, breaking the old daily record set in 1951 and 1993.
