Bloomington man faces charges in New Year’s Eve shooting

BLOOMINGTON – A second person has been arrested in connection to the New Year’s Eve shooting death of Tariq Houston.

Normal police, along with the U.S. Marshal’s Fugitive Task Force, arrested Dewon I.C. Griffin, 19, of Bloomington on first-degree murder charges related to the death.

Griffin was taken into custody Wednesday at a residence in the 400 block of West Chestnut in Bloomington, according to a release.

He is being held at the McLean County Jail in lieu of bond.
