SPRINGFIELD – How long did it take you to get your Firearm Owners ID card?

Illinois State Rifle Association executive director Richard Pearson says his group is suing the Illinois State Police over delays in processing applications for Firearm Owner Identification cards and Concealed Carry permits.

“We’ve heard every excuse in the world,” Pearson says, adding the ISRA’s actions precipitated an audit. “The gun owners and the people like the Illinois Rifle Association have done their part. The State Police has not done their part.”

Pearson says the two previous governors swept almost $30 million out of those funds.

Illinois poet Vachel Lindsay…

I was a grade-schooler during the Civil Rights 1960s. I watched Birmingham demonstrators hosed and the Selma – Montgomery…

Workers’ Memorial Day – Remember those whose job took their life

Looking around our community, when we say employer, most will respond to State Farm, Country, or Illinois State University.   We too often forget those who are building our roads, serving our food, or our public employees. COVID-19 has made us more aware of the risk.  Going to work every day for some people means…
