BLOOMINGTON – In an effort to prevent the spreading of COVID-19, McLean County Sheriff Jon Sandage announced new operational changes at the McLean County Detention Facility.
Operational changes effective at 5:00 p.m. Thursday, March 12, there will be no more in-house visitation with inmates. All visitations will be conducted from remote locations.
Additionally, all inmates brought into the McLean County Detention Facility will be subject to more intense medical screening questions.
Sandage said that all jail programs that are conducted by outside volunteers have been suspended as well.
“These changes will be in place until April 10, 2020, at which time the current situation will be reassessed,” McLean County Sheriff Jon Sandage said in a news release. “Again, there are no known cases of COVID-19 in McLean County or the McLean County Detention Facility. These changes are being made out of an abundance of caution during this pandemic.”
