State approves license for recreational cannabis sales in Normal

NORMAL – A local medical cannabis dispensary has been granted a license to sell recreational marijuana.

The Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation announced Thursday The Green Solution, located at 501 W. Northtown Road in Normal, was permitted a license to begin recreational cannabis sales.

Under the state law, existing medical cannabis dispensaries are permitted to open an adult use dispensary at the same site, as well as a second site for adult use sales at a different location.

The Green Solution’s approval raises the total number of same site licenses in the state to 49 and the total number of dispensaries selling adult use cannabis to 51.
