McLean County Health Dept. announces four new cases of COVID-19, moves county total to 48 total cases

BLOOMINGTON – The McLean County Health Department announced four additional cases of COVID-19, bringing the county total to 48, including two deaths.

“The testing is increasing, so we are still going to see confirmed cases coming in,” McLean County Health Department Administrator Jessica McKnight said. “Our total overall case numbers then as a whole are going up, so we are seeing that acceleration and that curve continue.”

Of those infected, 28 remain in home isolation, and five are hospitalized. Health officials say that 12 people have fully recovered from COVID-19.

“We are definitely at a time where we are going to see accelerated numbers. We should all be operating in our daily lives as if it’s in our environment,”  McLean County Health Department Communications Specialists Dion McNeal said.

Breaking down the total cases of COVID-19 in McLean County:

  • Chenoa: 3 total cases
  • Lexington: 1 case
  • Ellsworth: 1 case
  • Heyworth: 2 total cases
  • Normal: 14 total cases
  • Bloomington: 17 total cases

  • DeWitt: 1 case
  • Piatt: 3 total cases
  • Tazewell: 13 total cases
  • Woodford: 6 total cases
  • Livingston: 7 total cases
  • Ford: 1 case
  • Logan: 1 case

During his daily press briefing heard on AM 1230 WJBC, Gov. Pritzker announced 1,006 additional cases of COVID-19 statewide, including 33 additional deaths. The state total now stands at 12,262 confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 307 total deaths.
