NORMAL – Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Heartland Community College’s 28th annual commencement will be held virtually on Friday, May 15 at 6:30 p.m.
The ceremony will recognize those graduating from the Heartland Academic for Learning Opportunities, Adult Education programs, and students with associate degrees and certificates.
The college selected Nicci Van Dyke as the student commencement speaker.
During the ceremony, Heartland President Keith Cornille and Board of Trustees Vice Chair Jeff Flessner will make remarks.
Heartland alums Richard Casper and Dr. Seshanand Rao will be recognized during the virtual ceremony as recipients of the college’s 2020 Distinguished Alumni Award.
The ceremony will also include awards given to the 2020 Outstanding Faculty Award to Dr. Wayne Bass and Dr. Janet Titus.
