NORMAL – The COVID-19 pandemic forced Rivian Automotive to delay production at its facility in Normal, but the company shared a few updates in its August progress report.
In a video posted on social media, Rivian CEO RJ Scaringe toured the plant and provided some insight.

Rivian plans to start production of its electric-powered sport utility vehicles and pickup trucks next year. The electric vehicle maker will employ 1,000 workers at its plant in Normal at full production.
