SPRINGFIELD – This Labor Day weekend, medical experts say to celebrate wisely.
“When you dine with someone you know, there is still risk,” said UI Health’s Dr. Susan Bleasdale, who appeared at Wednesday’s coronavirus briefing with Gov. JB Pritzker. “However, when you dine in a large setting with multiple people you don’t know, this can also present further challenges for us and the Department of Public Health, because contact tracing for a group of people that you don’t know who you were in contact with can create a delay in the notification of a potential exposure.
The Illinois Department of Public Health Thursday announced 1,360 new cases and 25 additional deaths.
The governor also announced cases are on the rise everywhere except for two of the state’s eleven regions: 3 and 6, covering west central and east central Illinois.
