BLOOMINGTON – The Bloomington Election Commission has released more details into why they have suspended early voting.

The BEC says current ballots omitted two Circuit Court Judge retention questions.

The judges omitted were Jennifer H. Bauknecht and Matthew J. Fitton, according to our news partner HOI ABC.

As a result, early voting at Grossinger Motors Arena has been paused.

The error, first discovered by the Illinois State Board of Elections, only impacts the city of Bloomington.

BEC staff are working to fix the issue.

It appears the glitch does impact the roughly 1,500 Bloomington residents who have already voted early, along with those who received mail-in ballots.

The election commission says information for those residents will be forthcoming.

I was a grade-schooler during the Civil Rights 1960s. I watched Birmingham demonstrators hosed and the Selma – Montgomery…

Workers’ Memorial Day – Remember those whose job took their life

Looking around our community, when we say employer, most will respond to State Farm, Country, or Illinois State University.   We too often forget those who are building our roads, serving our food, or our public employees. COVID-19 has made us more aware of the risk.  Going to work every day for some people means…
