BLOOMINGTON – Bloomington city council member Scott Black announced in September he won’t be able to complete his term, which expires next spring because he and his wife have bought a home outside of Ward 7.
Residents in Ward 7 who are interested in filling the vacancy should contact Mayor Tari Renner at [email protected] by Friday, October 16. The mayor is anticipated to bring forward his selection for council approval on November 9, according to a news release.
The person who ultimately fills the vacancy will serve the remainder of Black’s term, which expires at the end of April 2021.
Black announced in June he would not run for reelection. So far, only one candidate, Kelly Cumpston, has announced intentions to run for Black’s council seat.
