SPRINGFIELD – Possible frost in the forecast might be incentive for Illinois farmers to step it up in the fields.
Meanwhile, harvest of the two major cash crops is about half complete. Steve Parn of the USDA’s National Agricultural Statistics Service says 45 percent of corn and 56 percent of soybeans are harvested.
Conditions are 68 and 66 percent good to excellent, respectively.
