BLOOMINGTON – State Rep. Dan Brady claimed victory Tuesday in his bid for another term representing the 105th District.

Brady, a Republican and Deputy House Minority Leader, defeated Democrat Chemberly Cummings, who is the first African-American to serve on the Normal Town Council.

“Over the next two years, our community will continue to battle both the public health and economic issues caused by the Coronavirus,” said Brady in a post on his Facebook page.

“I will continue to be there every step of the way for our small businesses, our working families, and our first responders who are at the forefront of this pandemic,” Brady said.

Brady is a funeral director and former McLean County coroner, who has served in the legislature since 2001.

I was a grade-schooler during the Civil Rights 1960s. I watched Birmingham demonstrators hosed and the Selma – Montgomery…

COVID-19 has made us more aware of the risk.  Going to work every day for some people means…
