Health officials report 12 more COVID-19 deaths; 299 new cases

BLOOMINGTON – The McLean County Health Department reports 12 more people have died from COVID-19 since December 31.

Health officials report the latest deaths are a female in her 60’s, a male in his 60’s, three females in their 80’s, two females in their 90’s, and one female in her 100’s who were associated with long-term care facilities. Additionally, health officials report two males in their 60’s, a male in his 70’s, and a female in her 80’s who were not associated with long-term care facilities were among the recent deaths.

The health department is also reporting 299 new cases of COVID-19 since December 31, bringing the county total to 11,888 confirmed cases.

McLean County Health Department Administrator Jessica McKnight reports 18 McLean County residents are hospitalized due to COVID-19, with 85% of ICU beds in use, 72% of total beds in use, and 63 people hospitalized for COVID-19 in the county.

Currently, 994 people remain isolated at home, while 10,763 people have been released from isolation.

More than 181,200 tests have resulted in a cumulative positivity rate of 6.6%. The rolling 7-day positivity rate is 9.6%.
