BLOOMINGTON – Three additional COVID-related deaths were reported Wednesday in McLean County.

A man in his 80s who lived in a long-term care facility as well as a man in his 40s and a man in his 80s have died, according to the McLean County Health Department. There have been 134 COVID-related deaths in the county.

The county added 86 new coronavirus cases. There are 23 McLean County residents reported to be in the hospital due to COVID and 862 are in home isolation. Local hospitals are reporting 73% of ICU beds and 92% of total beds in use.

The county’s rolling positivity rate inched up to 9.1%. 124 people were released from isolation, now 11,778 are considered recovered.

COVID-19 Vaccine Update

The doses of COVID-19 vaccine being received in McLean County is still very limited at this time and vaccination of healthcare workers in hospital and non-hospital settings with the greatest risk of exposure to COVID-19 in Phase 1a continues, according to MCHD. Over 4,700 doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in McLean County.

The IDPH has created a dashboard on their website to track vaccine delivered and administered in the state.  The data includes the number of residents in each county who have received a dose of the vaccine and the percentage of the population who have received both doses and are fully vaccinated.  Providers are to report as soon as practicable, but reporting can be delayed as much as 72 hours, which can lead to a lag between vaccines delivered to Illinois and vaccines administered, which is why this number may differ from what McLean County Health Department reports.
